Position Summary/Purpose

Assist in retaining customers by fulfilling the company’s obligations through the timely and effective delivery of restoration services. This position may include water mitigation and/or mold remediation services. Rainbow Restoration's staff and/or IICRC affiliates provide training.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow Rainbow’s policies and procedures in addition to IICRC standards.
  • Share best-practices with peers, and promote jobsite efficiency and safety.
  • Effectively and efficiently perform all cleaning and restoration services the company offers.
  • Inspect jobsite completed work and safety at the beginning and end of each work day.
  • Assist Lead Technician with accurate and timely documentation of signed customer paperwork, completed scope of work, moisture/humidity readings, photos, equipment tracking, inventory, notes, and timestamps.
  • Assist Lead Technician with accurate and timely project documentation in Fusion, MICA, iCAT, and TSheets.
  • Communicate project scope changes, discrepancies, or other concerns with the Lead Technician.
  • Maintain a clean and neat jobsite and facility at all times, a first-class impression of our work.
  • Participate in an “On Call” rotation for after-hours service calls during nights and weekends.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Temporarily fulfilling the primary duties of a Lead Technician as required to meet the needs of customers during busy times. Assist with ensuring all necessary tools, materials, and supplies are transported to jobsite.
  • Assist with performing basic equipment and vehicle maintenance.
  • Keep company equipment and supplies organized in vehicles and throughout warehouse.
  • Attend and participate in company meetings.

Decision Rights and Authority

  • Assist the Lead Technician with the sequence of steps to be taken when delivering the company’s services at the customer’s property.
  • Assist the Lead Technician with assigning specific tasks to new(er) Technicians within a work crew.

Working Relationships and Scope

  • Maintain timely and effective communication and flow of information within the onsite work crew and Lead Technician. Assist the Lead Technician with communications and information to the Project Coordinator, Project Manager, and Production Manager.

  • Planning and Organizing – Plans and organizes work activities considering the nature of the job at hand. Focuses on key priorities. Pays attention to details.
  • Technical – Is appropriately trained and/or certified and effectively performs all production work within the restoration division.
  • Quality – The individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors his/her own work to ensure quality.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience

  • High school (or GED) diploma.

Mathematical Skills

  • Adequate math skills – Ability to apply learned techniques to determine appropriate equipment type and number of units.

Computer Skills

  • Demonstrates basic proficiency in the use of computers, email and portable devices used to report and record daily activity.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • Possess and maintain valid driver’s license.
  • Work towards certification in cleaning and restoration services the company offers.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Working Conditions

  • The work of this position is carried out on the customer’s property and within the employer’s facility. Employee will encounter properties where heat is unavailable due to lack of utilities, fire damage has occurred, and mold or other organic growth exists. Daily exposure to the facility where inventory, supplies, and equipment are housed and maintained is typical.
  • Noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.

Compensation

  • $17.00-$18.00

Rainbow Restoration offers healthcare coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (PPO/HMO). Dental and Vision are through Aetna. Supplemental insurance is offered through Aflac. Rainbow Restoration also offers a Simple IRA option.
